BARRA HOUSE

Architect: Sergio Ossa | Rodolfo Valdes
Construction: OSSAVALDES ARQ
Year: 2019
Lo: El Manzano, Puertecillo, VI Region
Surface: 160m2

Casa Barra is located in the Sixth Region , on the Chilean central coast. Architecture and construction with low-cost and local materials were considered . The main idea was to tackle a land of 5000m2 without ocean views, so the house is completely north-facing with an in-depth view of a valley surrounded by forests.

The program of the house is divided into 3 zones , the central one is the multi-functional common space, separated from it, by interior terraces the rooms are located, on one side the visits and on the other side the main piece, each end with a bathroom.

The structure is a steel and wood skeleton that is modularly repeated throughout the entire house, achieving speed and repetition in its construction. The interior is lined with pine wood and the exterior with corrugated steel sheets. Its foundations are made of reinforced concrete in the type of isolated piles.
